Solicitation ofRequest for Proposal’ for Roof Repairs


Rooftop of Virginia CAP, Inc. is soliciting ‘Request for Proposal’ from qualified contractors for a roof repair at 206 North Main Street in Galax, Virginia.


The General Scope of Work for this project consists of, but, is not limited to the removal/disposal  of a shingled section of the roof and to replace with shingles and do all clean up around the site.  Cost over $2,000 will require compliance with Davis-Bacon regulations. Proof of licensing and bonding required. Please specify warranty information in the price.  The project must be completed by no later than June 30, 2018. RoV intends to award to the most responsive and responsible contractor on a fixed price contract for furnishing all materials, equipment, labor and supervision, clean-up required to complete the work set out in this solicitation. No cost overruns allowed.



A meeting will be held at the Main Office, 206 North Main Street in Galax on Tuesday, May 15, 2018, any time between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. so potential contractors can familiarize themselves with the existing site conditions. RFPs shall be submitted in a sealed envelope to be received until May 30, 2018 at 12:00 noon, ATTN: Cliff Testerman, P. O. Box 853, Galax, VA  24333, RFPs received after the stated closing date and time will not be considered.  RFP will opened on : May 25, 2018, 1:00 p.m. EST, at the Rooftop Main Office.  Telephone (276) 236-7131, FAX (276) 236-7134.

Rooftop of Virginia CAP, Inc. reserves the right to reject any or all RFPs, to waive informalities or irregularities in any estimate, to advertise for new RFPs, or to proceed to do the work by other means, as may be determined to be in the best interest of Rooftop of Virginia.


The repairs are to be funded by federal/state funding received through the Community Services Block Grant, Health and Human Services, Dept. of Energy, Department of Social Services, VHDA, and other grants funded to RoV.
