Camp Spark

Students Pursuing Academics, Resources and  Knowledge

While researching area needs, it was found that our middle school kids are underserved. They are at a major transitional age and without the proper guidance, they are more susceptible to negative behavior and attitudes toward those around them as well as their futures. We want to fill the service gap and provide opportunities for our youth to have positive supports and relationships that will enable them to meet their future goals. In order to help prepare middle school students for high school and beyond, Camp SPARK is offered during the month of July. Children rising to grades 6, 7 and 8 in the fall that reside in the Twin Counties are eligible to attend. Activities such as planning for future classes and occupations, lessons in bullying and choosing positive assets, field trips and team-building are always on the camp agenda. Preference is given to children from single-parent homes, lower-incomes and foster care. The camp is free to participating children. Applications are available for pick up at the main agency location or may be mailed or emailed.

Please contact Krista Manuel, Camp Facilitator, at 276-236-7131, ext. 223 or [email protected] for more information.
